A Village Life

I had these 'village life' panels for the longest time. Back then when I wasn't very daring nor was I clever enough to put fabrics & colors together . . .  Panel looks very medieval.

 
Decided on a light green around it and then put a bright pink as its 2nd border. Didn't know what to do after that. So it sat unfinished for a couple of days . . . Finally, thought pinks & greens all around it would like nice.

Found a nice greenish fabric with small red flowers as its backing and went back to shocking pink for its binding . . .
Nice effect! I like it. Don't you . . .? ;-)

Fabrics galore!

A dear friend went to Australia and I asked if she could pick up some fabrics for me. Told her to just grab anything that catches her fancy. She did a good job! Thanks so much Jelita ;-) The above prints are just so sweet for girls.

These are just great as I haven't got any pirate prints. Looking forward to see how this will turn out.

Already have some ideas for the alphabet one . . .

There are a few more. Thot I'd save them for later. I just love stashing up! Who doesn't?! ;-)

Friendship Star

I've always wanted to do a Friendship Star quilt . . . so here it is.

Decided to play with only 2 colors - red & blue, and knew I wanted it to be on white background.

Really like the result . . . very boy-ish. And very flag-ish :-)

Simply Sweetness!

I've been wanting to do this green & pink thing on white . . . and so I did.

Cut up 4" square of variety of pinks & greens in florals & dots and teamed it up with white borders all around. Finished it up with 5" pink dotted fabric.

Had some nice pink striped fabric for its backing.

Turned out just as I imagined - sweetness all around! Gorgeous really :-)

Cats & Dogs II

Its been awhile and I've been busy; with this 'n' that. You know how it is ;-).

Anyway, had this 7.5" cats & dogs block that looks adorable and thot I'd work on it. Didn't really know how I'd go with this one . . .

After much debate, decided to go with blue & beige. Made a simple log cabin around it. Added 4 patch blocks and alternated it with another variation of log cabin.

Close up and nicely folded . . .

For its backing fabric, found a nice blue & white small flowers . . .

Turned out square-ish. The blue & white striped border gave it an interesting look I thot ;-)

Cherries & Bears

Decided to play around with colors again. Made 12 pieces of 7" bears blocks . . . 

. . .  teemed them up with solid plain blocks of variety colors . . .

. . . added a 2.5" blue first border and finished it off with a 5" colorful cherries fabric . . . For its backing, found a nice blue polka dot fabric.

Taa - daah!  It came out looking like a jolly-happy quilt ;-)

Colorful Cats

Had about half a metre of this colorful cats and decided to cut them up in 4.5" blocks . . .

. . . framed them up with a 2.5" bold plain color fabrics . . .

. . .  and finished it off with pink floral border and pink stripes for its backing.

Turned out just that . . . bright & colorful!

Butterflies

Hi All! Im very excited about this one! I had a dear friend painted some colorful butterflies on my 7" white block. She used only the best - french fabric paint. It doesn't come off.

So, I alternated my colorful butterflies with 4 colorful patch blocks. Put a 2" dark blue border and finished it off with a 4" flowery light blue.

 
Gorgeous-morgeous! I just love it. Gonna get my friend to do more painted stuff on my quilts.

Dinosaur III

Had one last piece of dinosaur blocks. Instead of putting a log cabin around it (like I did the last time), thought I would make it just like the crazy bugs . . . . two light tones around it and brights scraps as its 3rd border.

A close up . . . had only 9 blocks.

Here it is. Quite squarish. I like it ;-)

Pink Leaves

Decided to make use of some of my pink scraps. Cut them into 4 leaves on an 8" white block.

Its a bit askew. . . . but

Fairies in the Garden

Again, a friend (gosh, I'm blessed with such dear friends!) gave me this fabric that had fairies all over. It was light peach.

So I teamed it up with a light peach & light green hues. Was pleased with the effect.

Crazy Bugs all done!

Remember my bugs, the one that i didn't know what to do with?

Put a light purple 1st border. Then, a multi-colored 2" x 4" strips of left-over scraps all around it. And finished it off with a 5" light pink dots .....

Folded up and ready to go.

Here it is! Quite happy with how it turned out in the end ;-)

Hearts in Blue

This is the 'twin' to the Very Pink Hearts quilt. The hearts are made of similar fabric, except that its in blue. Made 9 heart blocks and machined zig-zag all around it. Used a strong turquoise blue as 1st sashing and a flowered blue to finish off. A bit bigger than its twin.
