Its a trunk!

I wanted a storage idea to put in all of my daughter's stuff animal and whatnots. So my dear and talented friend A made this trunk for my lil' girl Maya - who loves cats!

Its one of the box/trunk with a lid that one can find in IKEA's children's section. She puts a brass handle on both side to make it easier to carry, found some lovely cat prints from her huge collection of decoupage paper and got to work.

I wanted a girlie colour of pink/purple and am happy with the background colour here. She's done a good mix and painted the whole trunk inside out. This is a close up from the side.

The inside is spacious and I love all the pictures she has chosen to put on the trunk.

Best of all - Maya loves it! Thanks A!
She does take orders / custom make for anyone who is interested. Just tell her your colours and what type of picture you would like on it.

Look what I found!

Saw these lovely "coffee fabric" and fell in love with it. It came in 4 different patterns & colours. Took 'em all.

Then read the selvage and it said 'moda fabrics - 100% cotton' - YEESSSS!

Already have plans on what I would make out of them :-)

And then, found some 'Alexander Henry' fabrics too - from its "paper dolls collection".

Simply gorgeous! Don't you just love 'em all. What a find! Its been one happy day for me :-)

A lil' something for the lil' un

So I had this green-hippo quilt right . . . . and I made a lil' pillow of the same fabric to go along with it . . . .

. . . . and I threw in a couple of rompers, some green mittens & booties and a fleece blanket.

Here it is in a bundle and ready to be posted out to Ipoh and on to its new owner - lil' baby Hafizuddin.

Thought I'd put together a lil' something for my cousin in Ipoh whose wife just had a baby boy, their second boy :-)  CONGRATULATIONS cuz!

IKEA fabrics!

Went shopping at IKEA recently and busted my lil' purse with all these goodies . . . . such gorgeous colours! Already know what to do with them :-)

Here's some of the older collection . . . . have used both hippo colours and the blue striped on white on my earlier quilts.

Last but not least, lovely prints - suitable for children. Can't wait to get started on them.

Baby Gift Set ready for Arifah

So I got a call from a friend A and she said she needs a gift for her sister who is having a baby. She'd like a pink tin she said . . . .

. . . . and the pink 'Sleeping Bear II' quilt, she said . . . .

. . . . and I threw in a fleece blankie and some pink mittens and so we have it - a nice pressie for A's sisters who is having a baby girl. "Welcome to the World, lil' girl" and "CONGRATULATIONS" to the proud parents !

Airplanes!

Remember the panels I got from my WIP posting weeks ago? Finally worked on it.

Each plane panel on white background measured 10.5" X 13". Quite big - so I picked 6 different planes . . . .

Decided to put them together with simple blocks. A lovely cloud blue as its 1st frame. Then a marbled yellow to follow suit . . .

Backing fabric was my favourite aqua-pinafore blue and found yet another shade of bright blue for its binding . . .

I so LOVE it ! Big and nice. Ready to go.

Wooden pencil box

This one is a beauty! A's work yet again.

She had some nice car pictures on decoupage paper and decided to make a pencil box for a boy.

She painted the background a dark colour as the car pictures were bright enough, and hand-painted some black & white road tracks all along the box. The lid (cover) slides in and out.

Its all made of wood and a crafty lil box it is. Let me know if anyone wants one for a girl.

A container of sorts

Its actually a good size for a wine bottle. Some friends have asked for a wine bottle box as a pressie, but this time A thought of making it into something else - a pencil box perhaps?

. . . . or a box to put just anything really - crayons, knick & knacks, sewing stuff, anything you can think of.

Nice. An interesting green that background colour is :-)
