Something Pink & Green

The fabric was bought last December - it had little houses and ducks and little trees. Decided on a simple pattern of squares & 4-patch, alternating dark pink with lite pink.

A complimenting green with white flowers was perfect all around it to bring out the green flowers on the block.
Squares were cut at 6" and the strips & 4-patch were cut at 2". I simply alternated the lite and pink around the blocks.

Backing fabric was a lovely pink & green flowers and went back to the same green as binding.

Simple and lovely for a girl.

Pieces of my Heart

Remember this? I decided to put white bold sashings in between . . . .

Made 12 blocks of strips and strips of colorful fabrics cut at 1.5".

The bold white went all around, then added a 2" very dark tone on tone purple fabric, and finally the gorgeous striped purple fabric as final border.

Backing fabric was a complimenting white with tiny purple pattern fabric and went back to the very dark purple as binding.

It's not perfect . . . . but I LOVE how it turned out.

Balloons & Dots

Bought this lovely balloons fabric recently and thought it would go well with my many colorful polkadot fabric.

Simply cut them ALL up in 5" squares and sew them together without any sashings in between.

Finished off with a 5" lime green bold fabric all around and went with the red polkadot fabric for binding.

Backing fabric was a delight! White with small red crosses xx.

F-U-N looking quilt - suitable for a boy or a girl.

Little Animal Huts

Bought this fabric last Xmas from S'pore. Waited till I had an idea what to do with it. I've cut it into 5" squares and put a solid algae green as sashing. Made 24 blocks.

Went for 2" solid white as 1st border all around and finished it off with a 5" matching green polkadot fabric. Trying to stick to simplicity here :-)

I so love the backing fabric! - white with green balls all over and returned to algae green fabric for binding.

Done! Put together pretty quickly.

Simple is Nice

I'm scrap busting, again. Making use of my pink scraps this time - specifically my 4" squares. Simply sew light & dark pink squares together . . . .

and once I thought I had enough, I put a striking 2" bold pink fabric as 1st border. Finished it off with a lovely 5" lite pink fabric with tiny buds all over.

Looking good here :-)

A different shade of pink polkadots as backing fabric and the bright bold pink as binding.

Simple & Sweet.

Netty's Order

She's having a baby soon and wanted the Red Hippo Quilt and 2 pillows + matching pillow cases to go with it.

So there's a baby quilt, 2x pillows, mittens & booties, a set of 3x carter's rompers (size: 0-6mths) and a basket.

All ready to go to its new owner. Hope you like it.

Flowers in my Garden

This was the pattern I came across that was just asking to be done. And so I attempted it :-)

Made use of my scraps and instead of stitcheries on the white blocks, made my friend A draw them flowers up just like in the magazine. So it was a 9-patch alternating with white blocks with flowers drawn on them.

Made 35 blocks altogether. Found a lovely 2" dark purple with hydrengeas on it as the 1st border and and a 6" lighter shade of purple to finish off.

A perfect lilac backing fabric and went back to the dark purple for binding.

So this is my version of it. Am happy with how it turned out. Oppsss, there's my daughter making the 'peace' sign.
