I DID IT!!

I've finally completed it! I'm SOOOO excited about this one people! I cut out 6 horse templates and hand stitched all of them with blanket stitch - pinks on browns and vice-versa.

Knew I wanted to go with brown as the first sashing so went hunting for the right fabric. Found this perfect dark brown fabric to bring out the individual horses.

So the first sashing was a 2.5" tie-dye-like dark brown fabric. Next I cut the remainder initial fabric given to me - pinks only - at 2" x 5" and sew them together length wise. Then went back to the dark brown (cut at 2.5" again) and found a perfect pink-brown polkadot to finish off!

Again, a perfect ever so lite pink fabric for its backing and another shade of marbled pink fabric for binding.

G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S ! What more can I say. Took a long time making but oh so worth it :-) Hope your little princess likes it N!

I Spy Quilt - II

A friend rung and asked if I could please do another "I Spy Quilt". Looked at my stash and yup, have enough for one more so I made another "I Spy Quilt" - with borders this time. (Sorry, but the picture is somewhat blur here).

Same 4.5" block of variety animal print fabrics with a 2" black fabric sashing in between. There are 54 blocks altogether (6 across & 9 down). Finished off with a lovely 5" multicolor dots on black fabric - PERFECT!

A dark blue fabric as its backing and went with bright marbled yellow for binding this time (the earlier one has bright red binding).

Love the effect!

Dinosaur Pillows for Iza's boys

Been looking for a dinosaur fabric for a client's request for the last 3 weeks to no avail! Then last week I came across this brilliant fabric full of dinosaurs - YEAYYY!

Its for 2 brothers. So I decided to put different color fabric at the back just so they can differentiate which pillow belongs to which brother.

A dark marbled navy blue for 'abang' . . . .

. . . . and a marbled turquoise blue for 'adik'.

Hope both brothers are happy with their pillows. Mummy Iza too :-)

Farm Animals

Yet another lovely find! A simple panel of 4 farm animals in the center. Couldn't resist it.

Simply put a 5" orangey-rustic colored fabric as the border and a lighter polkadot fabric at all 4 corners. Quilted around the animals and all the squares.

A perfect match found in the light yellow polkadot fabric as its backing and a dark brown fabric for binding.

Another done-in-a-day quilt! I'm happy.

Baby Animals

I came across this cute Baby Animal panel at Cottage Patch and grabbed it without a second thought.

It's a lovely crib size and all I had to do was simply add a lovely green-purple striped fabric I had in my stash. Put an olive green polkadot fabric at all 4 corners and quilted the outline of the animals.

Yet another small polkadot green (yes! I have this 'thing' for polkadot fabrics) as backing fabric and a marbled purple fabric for binding.

Put together in a day! Love easy work like this - turned out nice too.

Decoupage Box - Silverware Set

Yet another of A's creation. A lovely box with the right curves . . . .

She has decided to put a nice decoupage paper with orange tiger lilies covering the whole lid in front and some all along the sides.

Taa-dahhh! Open up and we have 4 dividers all painted in the same dark green as the outside, a chain to hold the lid up and lovely flowered decoupage paper on the inside lid.

A GREAT storage idea for some lovely silverware! (opps, forgotten my knives here) . . . .

. . . . or some tea / coffee sachets ? Whatever you put here, its just LOVELY !

Decoupage Box - Lil' Treasures

So here's a lil' box that my friend A did awhile ago.

A dark (almost black) base with English roses & leaves placed randomly.

A nice size to keep anything really - we women always have lil' things that needs nice boxes to store our things :-)

The inside is quite spacious too. A nice gift for a friend.

Colourful Pinwheels

Its a simple Pinwheel design. Have been wanting to make one in multicolors with white background for some time now.

The pinwheels are 4" square blocks cut into triangles. Then I put a 2" white sashing in between and all around. Finished it off with a 5" beautiful green-blue stripe fabric.

Backing fabric was a lite blue with swirls and binding was the usual marbled dark blue.

I like! You like?

Hearts in Pink

Just felt like doing something in pink and heart shaped. Without much thinking, started cutting up these hearts from the template. Did only 8 hearts in various pink fabrics (blocks on point) and decided on a white sashing.

First border was a bright 2.5" pink fabric, then went on to a lighter 3.5" shade of pink polkadot, and finished off with a cheerful 5" pink flowered fabric.

Came across a nice flowery pink backing fabric and returned to the bright pink for binding.

Nice! A bit on the smaller side . . . but nice & sweet!

I love challenges!

So N emailed and said she bought a quilt earlier and loved my work (YEAYY!!), and so could I please do another for her lil' girl. She bought these fabrics above and asked if we could meet up and talk design. Sure, I said.

Such YUMMYLICIOUS fabrics don' t cha think! I adore them. Have always wanted to do something with pink & brown.

N said her daughter loves horses so could I possible have horses somewhere in it . . . So I got this rocking-horse template and modified it a bit to make sure them horses have legs instead.

Put pink horses on brown and brown ones on pink . . . Stitching them one by one. Need to think of sashings & borders next.

Love 'em so far! So do my girls. But don't worry N, will get it done before your daughter's birthday :-)

Ms Spider & Friends II

Did the first of Ms.Spider & Friends quite some time ago. Did it in green - suitable for a boy. This time, thot I'd make one for a girl - with pink.

Had 7 blocks (circles really!) of Ms.Spider and her friends and I laid them in rows of 2-3-2 on a very lite pink fabric. Made it into a center piece.

Decided on a 2" lite green fabric as the first border and finished off with a 5" pinkish-green-eyeballs-everywhere-like fabric.

Backing fabric was a cream flower on lite pinkish-mauve and binding was yet another shade of pink.

Lovely! . . . with rays of sunshine in between.
