I finally found this quilt shop that I've heard others talking about - "Kelvin's shop"! Its located in ss19, subang jaya. I entered and found this lovely panel looking at me ;-). Its called 'The Secret Life of Fairies'.
I simply added a flowery pink border ....
.... and thought a pink polkadot backing & a purple binding would look great with it.
Done in a day!
This is a bed sheet from IKEA. Saw it and fell in love with it, brimming with ideas on how I could use it to make a quilt.
So I carefully cut up 8 different animal pictures into squares and teamed them up with various matching borders according to the colors of their cars.
Put alternating borders in between the gaps, an interesting blue strip as the outer border and finished it off with a 5" darker blue.
At the 4 corners, I put a blue flowered square, found a nice dark blue fabric for its backing and a lighter shade of blue for its binding.
I love it! So full of character .... dontcha' think?
This is the other half of the "Cats & Dogs II". There were 10 panels and I've made it into 2 different Cats & Dogs quilt. This is a girlie one.
Used 2 main colors - a darker pink and 2 different tone on tone beige fabric.
A matching polkadot pink fabric backing and a pink-ish binding.
Turned out pretty squarish.
Yes, its the twin to "the Green Hippo". Got it from IKEA.
Cut them up into squares of 6". Framed it up with white.
Finished it up with red polkadots, white binding and a suitable backing fabric.
Nice? Not bad huh!

And here's a girlie tin - gorgeous isn't it? Same concept - painted on and decoupage.
Same size as the boy's tin.

Ok heres something new - A friend painted this tin and did a bit of decoupage. Wanted a boy-ish tin.
Its quite big and spacious and so I thought I will fill it up with . . . .
. . . a quilt, . . . and a bear (all for a boy) . . .
. . . a flannel blankie, baby mittens, and 3 rompers - 2 short sleeve & 1 sleeveless.
The fabric was simply like this - in BRIGHT red.
It was so much red, so to break away from the red-ness, I thought I'd use the three colors of the animals - yellow, green & grey.
Made it up in big squares (8" x 10") and framed it with the three alternating colors.
A suitable backing fabric and a shade of light green for binding . . . and its done.
Seriously bright :-)

Gave her 6 blocks to work on. Oh dear, the pictures are horizontal. Sorry but I don't know how to turn it around :-)
Decided on a log cabin pattern in alternating shades of lite blue & dark blue all around the white blocks and found a nice dark blue fabric with whales and alphabets on it for its outer border.
A nice matching blue fabric for its backing and yet another shade of blue as binding . . . .
. . . . the end results - brilliant I thought! Love this one to pieces.
A good way to use up all my scraps. Made a simple 4 patch and coordinating hearts on white blocks. Yup, as simple as that :-)
A 2" white border . . . . (note that I've blanket stitch all around the hearts)
. . . . a 5" strips of same fabrics . . . .
. . . . yet another flowery fabric for backing and a strong maroon-ish binding.
A nice fresh country look! I like this simple-to-do ones.

A dark blue backing and a lite yellow binding and its done.
It turned out very big indeed! Really, really nice.
Yup, I know you know the fabric - got it from IKEA. Looks like a hippo doesn't it?
Cut them into squares and framed it with white sashing. Did a bit of a detail on one or two of them . . .
They are all 5" square (made 24 of 'em) and found a nice green & yellow stripes to go along with it . . . 
. . . green flowery backing, bright yellow binding strips and taa - dah !
I really like the effect ! :-)
