Precious Little One

A simple panel called "Precious Little One". Nope, couldn't resist it :-)

Simply added a pink polkadot 5.5" finishing border and 

quilted the center picture.

Backing fabric was lil' hearts and binding was the same as the border.

Added a lil' pillow too - Lovely!

Remember this panel? I made another one with a bit of a twist!

Like the 1st one I made, i used the same cream solid as sashing. i also added some other fun fabrics so that the blocks are the same size (easier for me!). Then, to make it longer I added 2" cream solid + 1.5" print fabric + 2" cream solid. Finally, I used 6" of the same print fabric as finishing border.

A lovely darker print brown as backing fabric and binding too.

Love, Love, Love how it turned out!

A Boy's Quilt - II

The fabric already came with squares filled with letters and some pictures of various transportation - boyish indeed! I decided to quilt around the squares, the letters and pictures.

Next, I added a 2" solid sky blue all around and finished off with a 5" beautiful dotted fabric which complemented the center piece perfectly!

Had enough fabric left for a matching baby pillow too :-)

Backing was a yellow gingham fabric and binding was the same sky blue.

Love it! What do you think?

Diaper Cake gifts - boys

A friend of mine had twins recently - boys!

So I quickly whipped up diaper cakes for them. 

One for Alif and another for Akif.

Such a sweet panel of mums & babes that I couldn't resist it! There were only 6 blocks of measuring 10.5" x 10.5".

I added a 2" lite dotted fabric as sashing and ended it with a 6" striped fabric as its border - lovely if I may say so :-)

The fabrics and colours were beautiful together!

Backing fabric was the hearts fabric from IKEA and went with solid orange for its binding.

Yummy-licious!

Dancing Teddy

It was an old "I Love Dancing" teddy panel I've had for ages. I came across it again after cleaning my sewing area.

I simply added a 5" shade of pink polkadot which complemented the panel and quilted the dancing teddy.

Really simple.

Backing fabric was the same shade of pink, but of a bigger polkadot and binding was the same as the finishing border.

Had enough fabric leftover for a baby pillow :-)
