Butterflies

Hi All! Im very excited about this one! I had a dear friend painted some colorful butterflies on my 7" white block. She used only the best - french fabric paint. It doesn't come off.

So, I alternated my colorful butterflies with 4 colorful patch blocks. Put a 2" dark blue border and finished it off with a 4" flowery light blue.

 
Gorgeous-morgeous! I just love it. Gonna get my friend to do more painted stuff on my quilts.

Dinosaur III

Had one last piece of dinosaur blocks. Instead of putting a log cabin around it (like I did the last time), thought I would make it just like the crazy bugs . . . . two light tones around it and brights scraps as its 3rd border.

Here it is. Quite squarish. I like it ;-)

Pink Leaves

Decided to make use of some of my pink scraps. Cut them into 4 leaves on an 8" white block.

Its a bit askew. . . . but

Here's a close up. Blanket stitched all around the leaves.

Fairies in the Garden

Again, a friend (gosh, I'm blessed with such dear friends!) gave me this fabric that had fairies all over. It was light peach.

So I teamed it up with a light peach & light green hues. Was pleased with the effect.

Crazy Bugs all done!

Remember my bugs, the one that i didn't know what to do with?

Put a light purple 1st border. Then, a multi-colored 2" x 4" strips of left-over scraps all around it. And finished it off with a 5" light pink dots .....

Folded up and ready to go.

Here it is! Quite happy with how it turned out in the end ;-)

Hearts in Blue

This is the 'twin' to the Very Pink Hearts quilt. The hearts are made of similar fabric, except that its in blue. Made 9 heart blocks and machined zig-zag all around it. Used a strong turquoise blue as 1st sashing and a flowered blue to finish off. A bit bigger than its twin.

Teddy Bear Quilt

Had this old fabric that had teddy bear heads all over. Cut out a 5" white square and put the teddy's head in the middle. Machined a zig-zag all over it. 

Next, did a log cabin (again!) in earthy tones around it. Block now measures about 8" square. Then, put an off-white, very light cream first sashing. Discovered soon enough that i didn't have enough of that fabric to go all around the block (oh no!)

Thankfully, found another slightly darker version of the off-white, light cream fabric with small white flowers.

 
All done! Turned out nicely ..... ;-)

Petter Rabbit & Friends

Had some left over Petter Rabbit from the Beatrix Potter panel I had sometime back. Cut them out and found I had 15 small blocks. Made use of it all. Even made hearts at the four corners.

Very Pink Hearts

Decided to make a pink heart and a blue heart (not yet done, but soon!). Machined zig-zag all around the hearts and made it into blocks. Added some pink and yellow flowery fabric around it. Turned out ok :-)

A friend send over these bright colored bugs. Needed to tone them down with pastel colors. No idea what to do next ....

My two girls (Sara-10yrs & Maya-3yrs) fooling around when I'm trying to think what to do next with my bugs . . .

Dinosaur II

Saw this 'dinosaur roll' and bought it on the spot! There are 8 pieces in a roll. Pattern repeats.

Decided to make it into another log cabin with bright orange and green ... The black & white stripes is just me trying to be bold ;-)
